new term ahead

Well, its been a good first week back. I am teaching the GCSE graphics set after all and I have a great bunch of students. We have taken Natural history as our theme and are beginning by drawing from natural forms. We will be visiting the Natural History Museum in Oxford for some more first hand material.

The idea is to concentrate on the visual qualities of the forms drawn and extrapolate designs from that. These designs may be developed into logos or kind of dingbats.

I have also started teaching a year 9 painting group and with them we are aiming producing triptychs using cardboard. Rather in the manner of Anthony Whishaw.
